MENTAL HEALTH TECHNICIAN
This course is designed to prepare individuals with the knowledge and skills needed to provide safe, therapeutic patient care to individuals who have mental health/behavioral needs in an effective and ethical manner. It will be taught in-person.
Successful completion of this instruction will prepare students for the Level I American Association of Psychiatric Technicians (AAPT) certification exam and entry-level positions for Psychiatric Aides and Mental Healthcare Technicians whose primary patient population has special mental health/behavioral needs. The last class meeting will be the AAPT certifying exam.
